6th Annual Back To School Health Fair With Theory 9

As summer winds down and a new school year begins, Theory 9 once again brought the community together for our 6th Annual Back to School Block Party on September 3rd. What started as a small neighborhood gathering has now grown into one of the Bronx’s most anticipated back to school traditions, full of joy, resources, and community pride.

This year’s block party was packed with energy as over a thousand families joined us for an afternoon of music, games, giveaways, and support. We distributed free backpacks, school supplies, haircuts, raffles, and more to ensure students start the year prepared and confident. From toddlers excited about their first day of school to high school seniors gearing up for graduation, the smiles said it all.

We’re grateful to have the support of so many partners who helped make this event possible. Council Member Pierina Sanchez for her ongoing support and presence. CPRF Charity, Broad Street Global, MetroPlus Health, Hispanic Federation, Boost Mobile, NYC Parks, NYC DOT, and Washington’s Walk Coalition for joining forces to provide resources, activities, and services to our families.

One of the highlights this year was our activation stations. Spaces designed for kids and families to explore, play, and learn. From sports drills to arts & crafts, wellness information to community resources, there was something for everyone to enjoy. The stations not only entertained but also created opportunities for families to discover new programs and services right in their neighborhood.

The Back to School Block Party is more than just supplies. It’s about building confidence, unity, and resilience. Theory 9 believes in fueling the next generation with the tools and encouragement they need to thrive. Seeing students leave with their heads held high, families supported, and neighbors connecting reminds us why this work is so important.

We are proud of what we’ve accomplished together, but we know the work doesn’t stop here. Theory 9 will continue serving our community through monthly food distributions, mentorship programs, Rising Kings Basketball, health & wellness initiatives, and year-round events that uplift and empower.
