A major win for the community. Governor Kathy Hochul has announced a $3 million investment into the West Bronx, reinforcing her administration’s commitment to safer streets, youth empowerment, and local revitalization. The funding will support infrastructure upgrades, public safety initiatives, and expanded opportunities for Bronx residents to thrive.

Local leaders and community based organizations, including Theory 9 Incorporated, celebrated the announcement as a powerful step toward equity and neighborhood transformation. The investment recognizes the tireless work of Bronx advocates who continue to push for resources, partnerships, and programs that meet families where they are.

“Community based organizations like Theory 9 are the backbone of our neighborhoods,” said Council Member Pierina Sanchez, whose district has been a driving force behind the initiative. “This investment will help us continue to make the West Bronx a safer, healthier, and more vibrant place for our youth and families.”

With this funding, the West Bronx is set to continue building pathways to opportunity proving that when state and local partners unite, lasting change takes root.
